Rambam was founded in 1938 and is currently a 1,000-bed government university hospital, the largest in the north of the State of Israel, which serves as a super-regional hospital for 12 hospitals. With an average of 200 peer-reviewed publications every year and close to 800 ongoing research projects at any given moment, The Center is at the international forefront in IVF, internal and orthopedic medicine, endocrinology, ophthalmology, hyperbaric medicine, and allergy research and is home to the Hebrew University's Nursing School, the Physiotherapy School, and the Medical Imaging Technicians School.
